Pay Scale
Level-07 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.
Job Descriptions
- Patient Care: Provide expert bedside care to patients and execute specialized technical tasks in various areas such as operation theatres, intensive care units, clinical specialties, Nursery, ICU/CCU/Labour Room, etc.
- Patient Management: Ensure accurate admission, transfer, and discharge of patients. Observe and record changes in patients’ conditions daily.
- Routine Tasks: Make beds daily, maintain records of temperature, pulse, BP intake/output, medicines, and injections administered.
- Technical Duties: Insert and fix I/V cannulas, administer oral medications, and I/V and I/M injections as prescribed by doctors, draw blood for investigations.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain registers for poison (schedule) drugs.
- Equipment Management: Keep emergency trays, sterilizers, and instruments in working condition.
- Teaching Duties: Perform teaching duties and any other tasks as assigned by higher officers.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
The age limit is set at 30 years for UR/EWS candidates, 33 years for OBCs, and 35 years for SCs/STs. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are allowed up to 40 years. The lower age limit is set at 18 years for all categories.
Educational Qualifications
Candidates should have either a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Nursing or a regular course in B.Sc. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized university or institute and must be registered as a nurse or nurse and mid-wife with State Nursing Council; OR have a Diploma in General Nursing Mid-Wifery from a recognized Board or Council and registered as a nurse or nurse and mid-wife with State Nursing Council with one year experience in minimum fifty bedded hospital.

Online applications will be accepted starting from the 7th of March, 2024 until the closing date on the 27th of March, at exactly six o’clock PM.
Selection Procedure
A pen & paper-based Recruitment Test (RT) will be conducted by UPSC on July 7th, consisting of objective type questions to shortlist candidates. Scheme and Syllabus for Recruitment Test (RT) is provided in detailed notification.
