Overview
The Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has released a centralized employment notice for the recruitment of Technician Grade-Signal and various categories of Technician Grade-III. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply before the closing date.

The total number of vacancies is 9144, divided as follows:
- Technician Grade-Signal: 1092
- Technician Grade-III: 8052
Pay Scale
The pay scale for the vacancies is as follows:
- Level-5 (29200 CPC)
- Level-6 (19900 CPC)
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should be aged between 18 to 36 years as on October 1, 2024. A relaxation of three years in age is provided as a one-time measure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Selection Procedure
The recruitment process consists of the following stages:
(i) A Computer-Based Test
(ii) Document Verification (DV)
(iii) Medical Examination (ME)
Information regarding the examination schedule and venues will be provided to eligible candidates in due course through the RRB websites, SMS, and email.
Only those who attend CBT will get a refund of their examination fees as mentioned in the detailed advertisement.
How to Apply 2
Applications must be submitted ONLINE through the official website. Applicants are required to submit their applications exclusively through an online mode on any of the official websites of the RRBs. Each applicant can apply to only one RRB for a specific pay level. A single online application should be submitted by an applicant for any or all the notified posts in that pay level for which they are eligible and interested. Once an RRB is selected, the choice is final. If a candidate applies to more than one RRB for the same pay level, all the applications for that pay level will be rejected.
Application Fee
For all candidates except the fee concession categories – Rs.500/-. Out of this fee an amount of Rs.400/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges on appearing in CBT.
For the candidates belonging to fee concession categories i.e. SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically Backward Class – Rs.250/- This fee of Rs. 250/- is refundable with bank charges deducted upon appearing in CBT.

Pattern and Syllabus of Computer Based Tests (CBT)
Computer-Based Test (CBT) Pattern and Syllabus for Pay Level-5 Post, Technician Gr.I Signal
- Test Format: The CBT is unique for each pay level. For the Technician Gr.I Signal post at Pay Level-5, the test duration is 90 minutes, and it comprises 100 questions. The PwBD candidates are allotted an additional 30 minutes.
- Marking Scheme: Each incorrect answer will result in a deduction of 1/3rd of the mark allotted to that question. Marks will be normalized if the CBT is conducted in multiple sessions.
- Passing Criteria: The minimum percentage required to pass varies based on the category of the candidate: UR & EWS – 40%, OBC(NCL)/SC – 30%, ST – 25%. This criterion may be reduced by 2% for PwBD candidates if necessary.
- Selection Process: The scores obtained in the CBT will be considered for shortlisting candidates for the subsequent stages of the recruitment process.
