The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a detailed notice for the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) Examination, 2025. A total of 3,073 tentative vacancies for Sub-Inspectors across various forces, including the Delhi Police, CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB, are set to be filled through this open competitive examination.

Examination Schedule
The Computer Based Examination (CBE), which is the first stage of the selection process, is tentatively scheduled to be held in November-December, 2025. A uniform correction charge of ₹200/- for the first correction and ₹500/- for the second correction will be levied during the correction window.

A total of 2,861 vacancies are available for the Sub-Inspector (GD) post in CAPFs. The pay scale for both SI (GD) in CAPFs and SI (Executive) in Delhi Police is Level-6 (Rs. 35,400 – Rs. 1,12,400/-).

Eligibility and Educational Requirements
Candidates must ensure they meet the educational and age criteria as on the crucial date of October 16, 2025 (the closing date for online applications).
Educational Qualification
The essential educational qualification for all posts is a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent. Candidates who have appeared in their final degree examination can also apply, provided they possess the essential qualification on or before the cut-off date.
Age Limit
The age limit for the posts is 20-25 years, as reckoned on August 1, 2025. This means candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.08.2000 and not later than 01.08.2005.
Age relaxations are applicable for various categories as follows:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 years after deduction of military service
Driving License Mandate for Delhi Police SI (Male)
For the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police (Male candidates only), applicants must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) on the date fixed for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests (PE&MT). Male candidates without a valid LMV driving license are eligible for the Sub-Inspector in CAPFs posts only.
