    Head Constable (Ministerial) Examination 2025 Notice Released

    The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), in coordination with the Delhi Police, has officially announced the detailed notification for the Head Constable (Ministerial) in Delhi Police Examination, 2025. This open competitive examination is set to fill a total of 509 tentative vacancies for the Group ‘C’ posts. Candidates from all parts of the country are eligible to apply, and women candidates are especially encouraged to ensure a gender-balanced workforce.

    The recruitment process will be a joint effort: the SSC will conduct the Computer Based Examination (CBE) and final result declaration, while the Delhi Police will manage the Physical Endurance & Measurement Tests (PE&MT), Skill Tests, and Medical Examination. The position offers a competitive salary under Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500 – 81,100).1

    A grand total of 509 vacancies are available for the Head Constable (Ministerial) post. This number is provisional and may be subject to change.     Eligibility and Relaxation Criteria

    Essential Qualifications

    To be eligible, candidates must satisfy both the educational and professional requirements as of the closing date of the Online Application Form:

    • Education: Must have passed 10+2 (Senior Secondary) or possess an equivalent qualification from a recognized Board.
    • Professional Attainments: Must have a speed in English Typing of 30 words per minute (WPM) OR a speed in Hindi Typing of 25 WPM.

    Age Limit and Relaxation

    The general age limit for the post is 18 to 25 years as on 01.07.2025. Permissible age relaxation is provided for various categories:

    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC: 3 years
    • Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 years after deduction of military service
    • Departmental candidates of Delhi Police (UR/EWS): Up to 40 years of age

    Selection Process: Four Compulsory Stages

    The selection process is a compulsory four-stage mechanism, which must be completed in a specific order.

    Examination Structure

    The final selection will be based on merit achieved across these tests. The Computer Based Examination is a 90-minute objective-type paper consisting of 100 questions carrying 100 marks. A negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applied for each incorrect answer.

    Stages of Recruitment

    1. Computer Based Examination (CBE): Conducted by SSC, 100 Marks.
    2. Physical Endurance & Measurement Tests (PE&MT): Conducted by the Delhi Police, Qualifying nature.
    3. Typing Test on Computer: Conducted by the Delhi Police, 25 Marks.
    4. Computer (Formatting) Test: Conducted by the Delhi Police, Qualifying nature.
