SAMEER Kicks Off Direct Recruitment for Advanced R&D Positions
The Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER), a premier Radio Frequency (RF) and Microwave Research and Development (R&D) Laboratory operating under the administrative control of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has released a significant recruitment notification (ADVERTISEMENT NO. 10/2025). The organization is seeking to fill 36 vacancies for various technical and scientific positions on a Direct Recruitment basis across its five centres.
SAMEER, which handles state-of-the-art design and development projects in advanced and next-generation technologies, offers a dynamic environment for young researchers and is currently looking for suitable personnel for its Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Guwahati, and Visakhapatnam Centres.

A total of 36 posts are open, including positions for Technical Assistants and Scientific staff. Two posts are specifically identified for Persons with Disability (one post for Orthopedically Handicapped (OH) and one for Hearing Handicapped (HH)). Post-Wise Eligibility, Experience, and Emoluments
The recruitment covers six distinct roles with varying eligibility requirements and pay scales based on the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Pay Matrix.
Technical Assistant Roles (Level 2 to 5)
The Technical Assistant posts primarily require a Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent along with a two-year full-time Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate or a National Trade Certificate (NTC)/National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in relevant trades such as electronics, mechanical, fitter, machinist, etc.
Technical Assistant-A (Level 2)
- Initial Pay: ₹19,900/- plus allowances.
- Maximum Age Limit: 25 years.
- Key Qualification: SSC/Equivalent + ITI certificate in trades like turner, fitter, machinist, or mechanical/electrical trades.
- Location: Mumbai, Chennai, Guwahati, and Vizag.
Technical Assistant-B (Level 3)
- Initial Pay: ₹21,700/- plus allowances.
- Maximum Age Limit: 27 years.
- Key Qualification: SSC/Equivalent + ITI certificate in specified mechanical/electronic trades, along with Two years of relevant post-qualification experience in R&D/Industry.
- Location: Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata.
Scientific Roles (Level 6 & 7)
Scientific Assistant (Level 6)
- Initial Pay: ₹35,400/- plus allowances.
- Maximum Age Limit: 25 years.
- Key Qualification: Full-time Diploma in Electronics, Communication, or a B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, or Electronics from a recognized Institute.
- Location: Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata.
Scientific Officer ‘A’ (Level 7)
- Initial Pay: ₹44,900/- plus allowances.
- Maximum Age Limit: 28 years.
- Key Qualification: Full-time Diploma/B.Sc. in Electronics, Electrical, or Civil.
- Post-Qualification Experience: Four years of experience in R&D/reputed industry in areas like handling electronic equipment, maintenance of high power/voltage systems, or construction and maintenance of buildings/electrical substations for Civil discipline.
- Location: Mumbai, Chennai, Vizag, Guwahati, and Kolkata.
Application Process and Selection Procedure
The recruitment process is structured in two stages, with all communication, including updates on the selection venue and dates, to be notified on the SAMEER website.
Key Dates and Application Fees

- Online Application Start Date: October 1, 2025.
- Application Closing Date (Upper Age/Experience Reckoned): October 31, 2025.
- General/OBC Application Fee: ₹500/- (to be paid online).
- Reserved/Women Candidate Fee: ₹100/- for SC/ST/Women Candidates/Persons with Disabilities/Ex-servicemen candidates.
Two-Stage Selection Procedure
The final merit list will be drawn based on the combined performance in the written test and skill/trade test.
- Stage-I: Written Test (Computer Based Test – CBT): All candidates will first appear for a CBT. Shortlisted candidates will proceed to the next stage.
- Stage-II: Skill/Trade Test: Candidates will be called for the Skill/Trade test in a ratio of not less than 1:10 per post.
- Final Merit: The merit list will be calculated with a 60% weightage for the Written Test and 40% weightage for the Skill/Trade Test.
Candidates should note that appointments are on a regular basis and successful candidates will be under probation for a period of two years from the date of joining. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-servicemen) as per Government of India instructions.
