Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- For Medical & Health Officers (M&HO): MBBS or equivalent degree from any recognized Medical institution of India or abroad, duly registered with MCI/NMC.
- For Junior Specialists: MD, MS, DNB, DM, M.Ch., Diploma or other equivalent degree from any recognized Medical institution of India or abroad, duly registered with MCI/NMC, in the specified specialities.
- Important Note: It is mandatory for applicants to have acquired the requisite educational qualification prescribed for the post as of the last date fixed for submission of applications. Applicants without the mentioned specialities can still apply and will be considered for the M&HO post.
Age Limit (as on January 1, 2025)
- Not less than 23 years and not more than 41 years.
- No age limit for candidates already appointed in Government service, provided they entered service within the prescribed age limit.
Domicile
- Applicants must be domiciled in the state of Meghalaya.

- Candidates are required to register on the application portal.
- Apply online and upload the necessary documents.
- The application portal link will be available on the official website of the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya.
- Applicants are advised to check the website for the link for payment of application fees.

- General Candidates: Rs. 460/-.
- SC/ST Candidates: Rs. 230/-.
Documents to be Mandatorily Uploaded
- Proof of date of birth (Matriculation/Secondary School Leaving Certificate or equivalent, or birth certificate issued by Registrar of birth and death).
- MBBS degree or provisional degree certificate.
- PG Degree/Diploma Certificate (if applicable).
- Professional Registration certificate.
- FMGE pass certificate (if applicable).
- SC/ST certificate (if applicable).
- Contractual appointment letter and charge report of all postings (if applicable).
- Proof of identity: EPIC/Aadhar Card/Driving License.
- Recent photograph and signature on the spaces provided in the application form.
Selection Process
Method of Selection
- The final selection list will be made by the Recruitment Board.
- Selection will be based on marks obtained in the Computer Based Testing (CBT) examination plus additional weightage marks.
- Selection is purely based on merit.
Mark Distribution
- Computer Based Test (CBT): 65 marks.
- Syllabus: MBBS Course Subjects.
- Additional marks for duration of service and experience (for doctors/specialists working under the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Meghalaya):
- 5 to 9 years: 10 marks
- 3 to 5 years: 7 marks
- 2 to 3 years: 4 marks
- 1 to 2 years: 2 marks
- Additional marks for Post-Graduate Degrees and Diploma in Medical Science:
- Postgraduate Degree (3 years): 10 marks
- Postgraduate Degree/Diploma (2 years): 5 marks
- Additional marks for Super-Specialization degree: 5 marks.
- Additional marks for Rural Posting (Normalized to 10 marks maximum for duration of 3 years/36 months completed):
- Category A: 3/36
- Category B: 6/36
- Category C: 10/36
Post-Selection Process
- Successful candidates who are currently pursuing Post-graduation or undergoing Senior Residency, or intend to pursue them, must compulsorily complete them within 4 years of joining the service; otherwise, the appointment will be cancelled.
- Selection is subject to verification of all original documents.
- Final appointment is subject to a satisfactory Police Verification Report.
