The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India, specifically ESI-PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College, Joka, Kolkata, is inviting applications for the engagement of Senior Residents under the Residency Scheme (Clinical and Non-Clinical) and Senior Residents against GDMO on a contractual basis. These positions are for ESI-PGIMSR & Medical College and ESIC Hospital & ODC (EZ), Joka. A walk-in interview will be conducted for immediate engagement and to create a panel for future engagements. ESIC Recruitment 2025 for Walk-in for Engagement of Senior Residents : Key Details
Engagement Period
- Senior Resident under Residency Scheme (Clinical and Non-clinical): Initially for one year, renewable/extendable yearly for a total of 3 years, subject to satisfactory performance.
- Senior Resident against GDMO: Only for one year, with no renewal or extension.
- The panel for engagement may remain valid for three months from the result publication date but can be cancelled/invalidated earlier without reason.

- Vacancies are subject to increase or decrease.
- 4% reservation for PWD is applicable if the vacancy is 100.
Pay and Allowances
- Senior Resident under Residency Scheme (Clinical and Non-clinical): Rs. 1,46,232/- (Consolidated remuneration).
- In addition to consolidated remuneration, Senior Residents under the Residency Scheme will receive transport allowance and DA on transport allowance as per rules.
- Consolidated remuneration will be revised as per ESIC Headquarters OM No. Z-17/11/1/2007/Med. IV (Pt. file) dated 13.04.2022 and OM No. Z-11012/51/2022-MED-VI dated 08.12.2022 when DA revision orders are issued by the Govt. of India and adopted by ESIC Hars.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as on the date of Interview)
- Senior Resident under Residency Scheme (Clinical and Non-clinical): Not exceeding 45 years.
- Age relaxation is applicable as per Central Government rules.
- The crucial date for determining age limit, work experience, and other eligibility criteria is the date of the walk-in interview for the concerned department.
Educational Qualifications
- Senior Resident under Residency Scheme (Clinical / Non-clinical and against GDMO): Medical PG Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the concerned specialty from an MCI/NMC recognized Medical Institution/Hospital.
- Candidates must be registered under MCI/NMC/State Medical Council.
- Candidates on bond are not eligible and must provide a Bond clearance certificate from the Appointing Authority.
- Candidates who have completed 3 years tenure as a Senior Resident in a Govt. Institution need not apply.
- Senior Residents currently working in any Govt. Institution can apply through the proper channel, provided the total period does not exceed three years.

Candidates should bring the following original documents along with attested copies at the time of the interview:
- NMC/State MC Registration
- Educational qualification certificates/mark sheets from Matriculation or equivalent onwards
- Experience Certificate (if any)
- Proof of Age (Matriculation certificate/Admit Card)
- Caste/Category certificate (SC, ST, OBC & EWS candidate, in updated Govt. of India format)
- Bond clearance certificate
- 02 recent passport size photographs
Candidates will also need to submit a neatly typed application in the prescribed format (Annexure I) in double spacing on A4 size paper, along with attested copies of the required documents. Incomplete applications or those not received within the specified period will not be accepted.

The selection will be through a walk-in interview.
Important Terms and Conditions
- The appointing authority reserves the right to terminate the appointee at any time, even before the tenure, with one month’s notice, without assigning any reason.
- Similarly, the engaged person must give one month’s prior notice before resigning or pay an amount equivalent to one month’s remuneration in lieu of the notice period.
- Other terms and conditions will be applicable as issued by ESIC Hqrs. from time to time.
- Private practice of any kind is not allowed.
- No TA/DA will be admissible for joining or other purposes.
- Selected candidates must execute a contract on a stamp paper of Rs. 100/-, with the cost borne by the candidate.
- A security deposit of Rs. 32,000/- (Rupees thirty-two thousand only) via Demand Draft in favor of ESI Fund Account No. 1 is required at the time of joining. This is refundable only after completion of the engagement period and production of a “No dues certificate.” If the Senior Resident terminates the agreement early, the security deposit will not be refunded.
- Residential accommodation/quarters may be provided subject to availability; however, no House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be given if accommodation is provided.
- Senior Residents will be assigned duties by the Dean/Medical Superintendent and will be required to attend emergency duties and round-the-clock floor duties in shifts.
- The ESIC reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process at any stage at its discretion, and this decision will be binding.
