Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh – The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Gorakhpur, has issued an advertisement for a Walk-in Interview to fill 53 vacancies for the post of Senior Resident. The appointments will be made under the Government of India Residency Scheme.
The institute, established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), aims to improve regional healthcare imbalances and augment medical education facilities. The Executive Director, AIIMS Gorakhpur, invites applications from Indian Nationals.
Walk-in Interview Dates and Venue
The walk-in interview is scheduled for 1st October, 2025. Candidates must report at the Administrative Block, AIIMS Campus, Kunraghat, Gorakhpur, UP-273008, by 09:30 AM.

Note: 5% of total seats are reserved for PwBD Candidates. The vacancies are provisional and subject to variation.
Salary and Qualifications
The post is classified under Group “A”.
- Pay Scale: ₹67,700/- (Level-11, Cell No. 01 As per 7th CPC) plus usual allowances including NPA (if applicable).
- Age Limit: The upper age limit is 45 years as on the date of interview. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories (5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and up to 10-15 years for PwBD candidates).
- Essential Qualification: A Post Graduate Medical Degree in the respective discipline from a recognized University/Institute is required. NMC/MCI/State medical council registration is mandatory before joining.
- Trauma & Emergency: Candidates with MD/MS/DNB in Anaesthesia/Emergency Medicine/General Medicine/General Surgery/Orthopaedics will be considered.
- Contract Period: Initially for a period of 1 year, which may be extended up to 3 years based on performance.
Application Fee Payment
Candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee via NEFT prior to the interview. The fee structure is:
- General/EWS/OBC: ₹500/-
- SC/ST: ₹250/-
- PwBD: Exempted

Other Instructions
- Selection will be made on the basis of an interview, but a written test may be conducted if a large number of applications are received.
- Candidates currently employed in Central/State/Semi Government/Autonomous Institutions must submit a “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” at the time of interview.
- Applicants must not have completed 3 years of Senior Residency under the Residency Scheme in any Govt. medical institution.
- Candidates must bring the filled-in application form, Bio-Data, original certificates, and payment receipt on the date of the interview.2
