ACTREC Seeking Senior Project Associate for Groundbreaking Project
The Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), an R&D satellite of the Tata Memorial Centre, has announced a job opening for a Senior Project Associate. The position is for a project funded by the Department of Biotechnology and is titled, “Design & Development of Oncolytic Vectors with a Multi-Pronged Strategy for the Treatment of Therapy-Resistant Solid Tumours.”
The project, led by Principal Investigator Dr. Albeena Nisar from the CAR T Cell Therapy Center, aims to develop novel and affordable cell therapy products for cancer in India as part of the “Establishment of Multi-Centric and Interdisciplinary Cancer Immunotherapy Network (CIN).” The selected candidate will initially be employed for a six-month duration, with the possibility of an extension based on performance. The salary offered is ₹62,230 per month (including HRA).
Essential Qualifications and Application Procedure
To be considered for the role, applicants must have a Master’s degree in Life Sciences or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology, along with four years of research and development experience. Alternatively, a Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Science, Engineering, Technology, Pharma, MD, or MS is also acceptable.
Candidates with experience in immunoengineering, animal handling (specifically with murine tumor models), mammalian cell culture, and computational skills (including gene editing technologies like CRISPR-Cas9) will be given preference.
