Overview

Airports Authority of India (AAI), a “Mini Ratna” Category-1 Public Sector Enterprise, has announced a recruitment drive for Junior Executives through GATE 2023, 2024, or 2025. AAI is a Government of India Public Sector Enterprise responsible for managing civil aviation infrastructure in the country. AAI is inviting online applications for various Junior Executive positions from eligible Indian nationals. No other application mode will be accepted. The total number of vacancies is tentative and may change at the discretion of the AAI.

The recruitment is for a total of 976 vacancies for Junior Executives in different disciplines:¹

• Junior Executive (Architecture): 11 vacancies
• Junior Executive (Engineering – Civil): 199 vacancies
• Junior Executive (Engineering – Electrical): 208 vacancies
• Junior Executive (Electronics): 527 vacancies
• Junior Executive (Information Technology): 31 vacancies

The pay scale for a Junior Executive is Rs. 40,000-3%-140,000. The total annual Cost to Company (CTC) is approximately Rs. 13 lakhs.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification & Experience

Candidates must meet the specific educational qualifications for each post:

• Junior Executive (Architecture): A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and registration with the Council of Architecture is required.
• Junior Executive (Engineering – Civil): A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology in Civil Engineering is required.
• Junior Executive (Engineering – Electrical): A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Junior Executive (Electronics): A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Electrical with a specialization in Electronics is required.
• Junior Executive (Information Technology): A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technical in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or Electronics is required. Alternatively, a Master’s in Computer Application (MCA) is also acceptable.

No prior experience is necessary for these posts. Candidates who are in their final semester or year are permitted to apply, but they must have their final results at the time of Application Verification.

GATE Qualification

Applicants must have a valid GATE 2023, GATE 2024, or GATE 2025 score in the corresponding paper for their chosen post:

• Architecture: Architecture and Planning (AR)
• Civil Engineering: Civil Engineering (CE)
• Electrical Engineering: Electrical Engineering (EE)
• Electronics: Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC)
• Information Technology: Computer Science and Information Technology (CS)

Age Limit

The maximum age for all candidates is 27 years as of September 27, 2025. Age relaxations apply to specific categories:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years
• Ex-servicemen: 5 years
• AAI Regular Employees: 10 years

Required Certificates

Candidates must submit various certificates at the time of Application Verification, including:

• SC/ST Certificate: Issued on or before September 27, 2025.
• OBC (NCL) Certificate: Issued during the financial year 2025-26.
• EWS Certificate: Valid for the financial year 2025-26.
• Disability Certificate (for PwBD): Issued on or before September 27, 2025.
• Ex-servicemen: Discharge Certificate.

How to Apply

Candidates must apply online through the AAI website, www.aai.aero, under the “CAREERS” tab. Other modes of application are not accepted. The online application portal requires candidates to register their email ID and mobile number, which cannot be changed later. All official correspondence will be sent to the registered email ID and mobile number.

Application Fee

The application fee is Rs. 300, payable online. However, the following candidates are exempt from paying the fee:

• SC/ST candidates
• PwBD candidates
• AAI apprentices who have completed one year of training
• Female candidates

Selection Process

The selection process involves the following steps:²

1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted for Application Verification based on the details provided in their application forms and their relevant GATE scores (2023, 2024, or 2025).
2. Application Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for Application Verification. They must present their original certificates and a set of self-attested photocopies.
3. Provisional Selection: A merit list will be prepared based on the GATE scores of the candidates who appear for Application Verification.
4. Tie-breaking criteria: In case of a tie in GATE scores, the candidate older in age will be ranked higher. If both GATE score and date of birth are tied, the candidate with higher marks in their qualifying degree will be ranked higher.
5. Final Appointment: The selection is provisional and subject to the verification of all documents, a background check, and meeting medical standards. Color blindness and night blindness are grounds for rejection.
