NICL Recruitment for Govt. Jobs Dec. 2023 : Eligibility Criteria

Age as on 01.12.2023
Minimum Age: 21 years Maximum Age: 30 years, as on 01.12.2023
i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.12.1993 and not later than 01.12.2002 (both dates inclusive). Relaxation in upper age limit shall be as per details provided in detailed advertisement.

Qualification mentioned should be from any of the recognized Indian Universities duly approved by the UGC or any of the recognized
Indian Institutes duly approved by AICTE.

The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate of the necessary qualification as on 01.12.2023.

The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s) / year (s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours/optional/additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/Grade is decided on basis of honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60%.

Where CGPA/OGPA are awarded, the candidate will have to produce a certificate issued by the appropriate authority inter alia stating the
norms of the University regarding conversion of grade into percentage and the percentage of marks scored by the candidate in terms of norms.

NICL Recruitment for Govt. Jobs Dec. 2023 : Selection Procedure

Part A – Applicable for all applicants other than for Hindi Officers.
The written exam will be conducted in two phases
Phase – I: Preliminary Examination online
Phase – II: Main Examination online

The Candidates will be required to obtain a minimum score for each section separately of objective test for short listing for the Descriptive Test evaluation i.e., the descriptive answer script would be evaluated only in respect of those candidates who qualify the objective test. Depending on the number of vacancies, cut offs will be decided for Descriptive Papers evaluation i.e. there will also be a separate cut-off marks for the Descriptive Test. The Descriptive test will be qualifying in nature and the marks scored in the Descriptive test will not be counted towards short listing for interview or final selection.

Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum total score (to be decided by the Company according to number of vacancies) in the objective test (Main Examination) and qualify in the descriptive test for short listing for the Interview.

Part B. – Applicable for Hindi Officers only
The online written exam of 3 Hours 30 Minutes duration will be conducted in a single phase for Hindi (Rajbhasha) Officers.

PART C – Interview
Generalist & Specialist Candidates who have been shortlisted based on online Phase – II (Mains Examination) and Hindi (Rajbhasha) Candidates who have been shortlisted based on the online written examination will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Company. Interview will be conducted at select centres. The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call
letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from company’s website.

Candidate can apply for any ONE discipline only. In case of multiple applications (within the same discipline or across the disciplines)
only the latest valid (completed) application will be retained and the application fee/ intimation charges paid for the other multiple
registration(s) will stand forfeited.

Candidates to go to the Company’s website https://nationalinsurance.nic.co.in/ and click on the option “APPLY ONLINE” which will open a new screen.

To register application, choose the tab “Click here for New Registration” and enter Name, Contact details and Email-id. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password. An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent.

In case the candidate is unable to complete the application form in one go, he / she can save the data already entered by choosing “SAVE AND NEXT” tab. Prior to submission of the online application candidates are advised to use the “SAVE AND NEXT” facility to verify the details in the online application form and modify the same if required. Visually Impaired candidates should fill the application form carefully and verify/ get the details verified to ensure that the same are correct prior to final submission.

National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) 3

The National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) is India’s Oldest General Insurance Company. It was incorporated in Kolkata, West Bengal on December 5, 1906 to fulfil the nationalist aspiration for Swaraj. 66 years later, after passing of General Insurance Business Nationalisation Act in 1972, it was merged along with 21 foreign and 11 Indian companies to form National insurance Company Limited, one of the four subsidiaries of the General Insurance Corporation of India, fully owned by Govt. of India. Under the provisions of this Act, the shares of existing Indian general insurance companies and undertaking of other insurers were transferred to GIC for the regulation and control of insurance business.
