ESIC-PGIMSR, ESIC Medical College and ESIC Hospital & ODC (EZ), Joka, is conducting a walk-in interview for the immediate engagement of Full-Time/Part-Time Super Specialists and Part-Time Specialists on a contractual basis. The engagement is initially for one year, extendable yearly for a total of three years, or until a regular incumbent joins, or the candidate attains 70 years of age, whichever is earlier. 1

Remuneration
Full-time Contractual Super Specialist
- Super Specialist (Entry Level): ₹2,00,000/- per month (consolidated). No other allowances are admissible.
- Consultant (Senior Level): ₹2,40,000/- per month (consolidated). No other allowances are admissible.

Age Limit
- Not exceeding 67 years as of the date of document verification/interview.
Educational Qualification and Experience
Super Specialist (Senior Consultant)
- A recognized medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or Part-II of the third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Post-graduate degree in the concerned specialty mentioned in Annexure-I or equivalent.
- Seven years’ experience in a recognized institution in the concerned specialty after obtaining DM/M.Ch in the respective discipline/subject.
Super Specialist (Entry Level)
- A recognized medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule or Part-II of the third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Post-graduate degree in the concerned specialty mentioned in Annexure-I or equivalent.
- Five years’ experience in a recognized institution in the concerned specialty after obtaining the First Post Graduate Degree in the respective discipline/subject (i.e., 2 years post DM/M.Ch experience). Fresh DM/Mch candidates can be considered if other candidates are not available.
- Note: For MD/M.Ch qualifications of five years’ duration, the period of Senior PG residency rendered in the last part of the said D.M/M.Ch shall be counted towards the five years’ experience requirement.
Part Time Contractual Specialist
- A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the first or second Schedule of Part-II of the third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Post-graduate degree (Doctor of Medicine (Radio-diagnosis)/Doctor of Medicine (Radiology) or Master of Surgery in Radiology) or Diploma in the concerned specialty (Diploma in Medical Radio Diagnosis or equivalent diploma of one year duration).
- Three years’ experience in the concerned specialty after obtaining the first post graduate degree or five years’ experience after the postgraduate diploma.
Professional Indemnity Policy
Selected Specialists must have a professional indemnity policy covering the period of contractual engagement.
- Minimum sum assured per annum:
- ₹30 lakhs for Anesthesiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Neuro Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons etc.
- ₹20 lakhs for General Surgeons, Gynecologists, Obstetricians etc.
- ₹10 lakhs for Physicians, Dentists, Radiologists, Pathologists etc.A copy of the insurance and premium receipt must be submitted within 7 days from the date of engagement.
Terms and Conditions
Engagement Period
- Full Time/Part Time Super Specialist: Minimum period of three years or till joining of regular incumbent or attaining 70 years of age, whichever is earlier. Extendable yearly based on satisfactory performance.
- Part Time Specialist: One year from the date of joining or joining of regular specialist, whichever is earlier.
Availability
- Full time Super Specialist: Available on call 24X7.
- Part time Super Specialist: Available 24×7 if willingness for emergency visit is submitted.
- Part time Specialist: Available on call 24×7 if willingness for emergency duty is submitted at the time of joining.
Responsibilities
- Super Specialist and Specialist are responsible for all cases undergoing treatment under their supervision in their specialty discipline.
Leave Entitlement
- Full time Super Specialist: Entitled to 4 days leave for each month of work on a pro-rata basis in a calendar year. Unavailed leave (up to a maximum of 30 days) can be encashed.
- Part time Super Specialist/Specialist: Not entitled to any kind of leave benefits.
Working Hours
- Part Time Specialist: Minimum 16 hours per week as per directions of MS/Dean.
Other Conditions
- Appointment is subject to Medical Fitness.
- No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview/joining the post.
- Acceptance/consent letter in writing is required before medical examination.
- The appointing authority reserves the right to terminate the appointee anytime with one month’s notice. The engaged person must also give one month’s notice before resigning or pay an amount equivalent to one month’s remuneration.
- Gross misconduct or negligence will lead to immediate termination without notice or payment.
- Selected candidates must join duty immediately or on the date indicated in the offer letter, failing which the offer will be cancelled.
- Full-time/Part-time Super Specialists must wear their own white coat with a name badge during duty hours.
- Attendance must be marked manually and via AEBAS (Aadhar Enabled Based Bio Metric Attendance System).
- Private practice of any kind is not allowed (except for part-time specialists/super specialists).
- The contract will be signed on a ₹100/- stamp paper, with the cost borne by the candidate.
- Full time Super specialist/Specialist: Required to deposit a security of ₹35,000/- through Demand Draft in favor of ESI Fund Account No. 1 at the time of joining. This is refundable after completion of the contract period and on production of a “No dues certificate”.
- Contractual engagement may be terminated/discontinued by either side with one month’s prior notice without assigning any reason.
- Retired employees/pensioners can draw full consolidated remuneration and continue to draw pension and dearness relief on pension during their contractual engagement.
- Hostel accommodation/quarters will not be provided.
- For Part-time Specialist, private practice is not allowed during working hours.

Candidates should check their eligibility before appearing for the interview.
Interested candidates must attend the interview with a filled-in Application Form (Annexure-II) and enclose necessary self-attested copies of certificates.
Required Documents/Testimonials (along with application form)
- One set of the prescribed application form (Annexure-II) printed on A4 size paper, properly filled up and submitted at the time of verification on the day of the interview.
- Two copies of recent self-attested color passport size photographs.
- One set of self-attested copies of certificates and testimonials in support of:
- Proof of age (Date of Birth)
- Category (SC & ST), Category OBC in updated Government of India Format, Sub-category
- Educational Qualifications: (Matriculation, Higher Secondary, Graduate, Post Graduate, & any other)
- Registration certificate issued by State Medical Council/MCI
- NOC for in-service candidate from employer
- Service bond release certificate if applicable
- Original documents for verification.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in the interview before the Selection Board.
