The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released its examination and recruitment test (RT) program for 2026.1
Key Highlights
Key highlights of the schedule include:
- Preliminary Examinations:
- Combined Geo-Scientist and Engineering Services preliminaries are set for February 8, 2026.
- NDA & NA (I) and CDS (I) examinations will take place on April 12, 2026.
- Civil Services (Preliminary) and Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) examinations (through CS(P)) are scheduled for May 24, 2026.
- Central Armed Police Forces (ACs) examination is on July 19, 2026.
- Combined Medical Services examination will be held on August 2, 2026.
- NDA & NA (II) and CDS (II) examinations are scheduled for September 13, 2026.
- Main Examinations:
- Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) is on June 20, 2026.
- Engineering Services (Main) is on June 21, 2026.
- Civil Services (Main) starts on August 21, 2026, and runs for five days.
- Indian Forest Service (Main) begins on November 22, 2026, and runs for seven days.
- Other Examinations/Tests:
- CBI (DSP) LDCE is on February 28, 2026.
- CISF AC(EXE) LDCE-2026 is on March 8, 2026.
- I.E.S./I.S.S. Examination starts on June 19, 2026, and runs for three days.
- S.O./Steno (GD-B/GD-I) LDCE is on December 12, 2026.
Several dates throughout the year are also reserved for UPSC RT/Examinations.

The UPSC has stated that the dates of notification, commencement, and duration of these examinations/RTs are subject to change if circumstances warrant.
