NEW DELHI — The Ministry of Education, Government of India, has initiated the process for appointing a new Vice-Chancellor (VC) for the prestigious University of Allahabad. Candidates for the Vice-Chancellor position must be outstanding academicians with a proven track record. The ideal applicant is expected to be a person of the highest level of competence, integrity, morals, and institutional commitment.
Applicants are required to have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Professor in a university or an equivalent duration of experience in a reputed research or academic administrative organization.
Age Criteria

Salary and Service Conditions
The appointed Vice-Chancellor will receive a fixed salary of Rs. 2,10,000/- per month, in addition to a special allowance of Rs. 11,250/-. Other allowances will be provided as per standard government regulations. The terms and conditions of service are governed by the specific Acts, Statutes, and Ordinances of the University of Allahabad.

The final appointment will be made from a panel of names recommended by a specialized committee, in accordance with the provisions of the University Act.
