NABARD Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd. (NABCONS) is recruiting for one Senior Consultant position to manage “Watershed Development Projects” at the NABARD Jharkhand Regional Office. NABCONS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NABARD and a leading consultancy in agriculture and rural development.1

- Remuneration Range: ₹61,000 – ₹70,000 per month
Key Responsibilities of Senior Level Consultant:
- Identifying watersheds/springsheds and appraising initial proposals.
- Monitoring projects (technical, physical, and financial).
- Scrutinizing and processing disbursement and release claims.
- Conducting meetings with Project Facilitating Agencies (PFAs) and building capacity.
- Assisting in the preparation and appraisal of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs).
- Monitoring and correcting MIS entries at the local level.
- Supporting data consolidation at district and RO levels.
- Following up on MIS and submitting reports to the Head Office (HO).
- Documenting best practices and preparing case studies.
- Preparing/verifying and submitting progress reports to HO.
- Scrutinizing and verifying Project Completion Reports.
- Web-based monitoring of watershed and NRM projects via NABARD BHUVAN portal.
- Providing guidance to PFAs for data uploading and geotagging assets.
- Verifying books and records of various NRM projects.
- Training and capacity building for PFAs, field supervisors, and committees.
- Performing any other assigned work by the ROs. The role involves travel within and outside the state.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification: First-class Graduate and/or Post-Graduate/PhD with at least 55% in Agriculture and allied subjects (e.g., Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Agricultural Engineering, Soil Science, Water Resource Development, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Environmental Science, Hydrology, Crop Science) with relevant watershed development experience. Alternatively, a Post-Graduate in Social Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks and 5 years of experience in implementing and monitoring Watershed Development Projects.
- Experience: 1-2 years in Watershed/Springshed Development and Climate Change Adaptation programs/projects.
- Desirable Experience: Knowledge of working in the government system, policy formulation, stakeholder engagement, networking with State Governments and Agri. universities, and research institutes for technology transfer and extension support.
- Other Criteria: Proficiency in MS Office, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and the regional language.
- Age: Minimum 21 years and maximum 55 years as of July 1, 2025.
Remuneration and Facilities:
- Monthly Remuneration:
- Post Graduate/Doctorate with >2 years experience: ₹61,000-₹70,000.
- Graduate with >4 years experience: Remuneration range not specified, but within ₹61,000-₹70,000 as per the table structure.
- Remuneration is inclusive of statutory deductions, and tax will be deducted at source.
- An annual 5% revision in remuneration is possible after one year of satisfactory service.
- Other Facilities:
- Daily allowance during field visits.
- Traveling allowance: 3rd AC train/economy class airfare (with approval) or hired taxi (with approval).
- Lodging allowance: Up to ₹5,000 for Metro & Non-Metro centers, ₹4,500 for Other State Capitals/UTs & major cities, and ₹3,500 for All Other Centres.
- Halting allowance: ₹1,600 for Metro & Non-Metro centers and ₹1,400 for Other state capitals/UTs, all other major cities. Reduced halting allowance applies if lodging/boarding is provided free of cost.
- Local Conveyance: Taxi (₹20/km in Metro, ₹18/km in Non-Metro), Auto (₹15/km in Metro, ₹12/km in Non-Metro).
- Travel by own car on outstation tour with prior approval: Reimbursement of ₹18/km or actuals, whichever is less, subject to receipts.
- Health insurance premium (as per NABCONS Policy).
- PF contribution (as applicable).
- Mobile phone/internet/data charge for official purposes: ₹1,000 per month.
- Permissible absence (casual leave): 24 days per year, credited half-yearly (12 days on January 1st and 12 days on July 1st). Maximum 5 days at a stretch (excluding weekends/holidays), and total absence not exceeding 10 days40. Leave beyond 10 days is without pay. Maternity leave as per Maternity Benefit Act.
- Printing of visiting cards: 100 cards per year.
- Overtime as per NABCONS Policy.
- Consultants are eligible for advance for outstation tours.
- Tour claims must be settled within one month of completion.
- Other facilities like leave encashment, performance bonus, leave travel concession are not applicable.
Contract Period and Termination:
- The contract is initially for one year, extendable based on satisfactory performance and project requirements.
- The contract can be terminated with a two-month notice period.
