        • Two years’ practical experience in testing and evaluating building construction materials using physical methods of analysis in a recognized Laboratory/Institute.
  2. Desirable Qualifications:
    • Research and Development experience in testing and evaluation techniques, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, material science, quality control, standardization, and calibration.
    • Specialized knowledge of modern soil testing methods for engineering purposes, refractory materials, heat-insulating materials, cement, and timber.

As a Scientist ‘B’ (Physical-Civil), you will play a pivotal role:

  • Overseeing the Physical-Civil discipline.
  • Allocating samples to Scientific Officers and Scientific Assistants.
  • Supervising and resolving technical and administrative challenges.
  • Reviewing draft test certificates and signing final test certificates.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) (संघ लोक सेवा आयोग) is a constitutional body of India that conducts direct recruitment of officers to the All India Services and the Central Civil Services (Group A and B) through examinations and appoints officers in various Services under the Government of India. The personnel are managed by the Department of Personnel and Training.

The agency’s charter is granted by Part XIV of the Constitution of India, titled as Services Under the Union and the States. The commission is mandated by the Constitution for appointments to the services of the Union and All India Services.
