Re-opening of Application Portal for SLST 2025 Announced by West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBCSSC)
The West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBCSSC) has announced a re-opening of its application portal for the 2nd SLST 2025 examination. This decision follows a solemn order from the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the matter of SLP Diary No. 46049/2025. The notice, dated August 22, 2025, grants a 10-day window for selected and appointed candidates who were previously allowed to continue their service until December 31, 2025. These candidates are now required to participate in a “fresh selection process” and must meet the newly introduced eligibility criteria of securing 50% minimum marks in graduation and post-graduation.
The application window is from August 23, 2025 (evening) to September 2, 2025, with the payment window remaining open until 11:59 PM on the last day. The commission has also provided a timeline for other key dates:
- Admit Card Download: From the evening of September 3, 2025.
- Written Examination: The dates for the written exam, September 7 and September 14, 2025, will remain unchanged despite the upcoming festive season.
The commission’s notice emphasizes that candidates who have already applied and received their admit cards do not need to apply again. This move aims to ensure compliance with the Supreme Court’s directives and to finalize the selection process within the stipulated timeframe.1
