Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.
Age Criteria:
- Minimum age as of January 1st, 2024: 18 years
- Maximum age as of January 1st, 2024: 28 years
- Relaxation in age for SC/BC candidates and Punjab Government employees.
Educational Qualifications:
- 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized Education Board/University.
- For Ex-Servicemen, minimum educational qualification is Matriculation.
- Mandatory: Passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects by January 1st, 2024.
Physical Standards:
- Minimum height required:
- Male: 5 feet 7 inches (170.2 cms)
- Female: 5 feet 2 inches (157.5 cms)
- Transgender candidates treated at par with Female candidates for Physical Screening Test and Physical Measurement Test.
Pay Scale
Pay scale for the post of Constable is Rs. 19,900/- per month for three years from the date of joining.
Selection Process
Three-stage process:
Stage-I: Common Computer Based Test (CBT) with Paper-I and Paper-II (Paper-II is qualifying).
Stage-II: Physical Screening Test (PST) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT) (both qualifying).
Stage-III: Document Scrutiny.

Ex-Servicemen (ESM) of Punjab State only/Lineal Descendants of ESM: Rs. 500/-
SC/ST of all States and Backward Classes of Punjab State only: Rs. 650/-
Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): Rs. 650/-
Transgender candidates’ fee as per their reservation category
