The golden sands of Chandrabhaga Beach, Konark, Odisha, are set to become a global canvas once again as the state prepares to host the 15th International Sand Art Festival. The highly anticipated event is scheduled to take place from December 1st to 5th, 2025.
The festival, which attracts talented sand artists from around the world, aims to promote both the art form and the region’s rich cultural heritage, often lauded as “Odisha – India’s Best Kept Secret.”
Applications Open for International Artists
Interested Sand Artists who wish to participate in the prestigious competition are currently invited to apply. Applications are being processed exclusively online. Artists can log on to the official tourism portal, odishatourism.gov.in, to register and submit their details.1
Sudarsan Pattnaik Continues as Brand Ambassador
Famed sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Shri Sudarsan Pattnaik will continue his association with the festival, serving as its Brand Ambassador. Pattnaik, a native of Odisha, is recognized globally for his intricate and socially relevant sand sculptures and will lend his name and expertise to the 2025 edition of the festival, ensuring its continued success and international appeal.
The five-day event promises to be a spectacular display of creativity, transforming the beach near the historic Sun Temple into an open-air art gallery for thousands of visitors.
