    MCGM Sarkari Naukri 2025: Recruitment for Leprosy Medical Workers Government Jobs

    MCGM, Public Health Department is seeking applications for 10 contract-based positions of ‘Lower Medical Worker’ (निम्न वैद्यकीय कार्यकर्ता) at the Acworth Municipal Leprosy Hospital, Wadala, Mumbai. The recruitment is on a contract basis for a period of 179 days at a time or until a regular appointment is made, whichever is earlier. The contract period is from October 1, 2025, to March 31, 2027, with a one-day service break after every 179 days.

    Eligibility Criteria

    To apply for the Lower Medical Worker (निम्न वैद्यकीय कार्यकर्ता) position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

    • Educational Qualification:
      • Must have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) School Examination.
      • Must have a training certificate as a ‘Leprosy Technician’ from a government-recognized institution.
      • Must have passed the Secondary School Certificate Examination or an equivalent exam with a Marathi subject of 100 marks (higher or lower level).
      • Must have completed a government-recognized computer course.
    • Age Limit:
      • The minimum age is 18 years.
      • The maximum age is 38 years as of the last date of application submission (10/09/2025).
    • Experience:
      • The candidate must have at least 6 months of work experience as a Leprosy Technician in a government or semi-government institution.
      • Experience of 6 months will get 2 additional marks in the merit list, with a maximum of 20 marks for experience.

    How to Apply

    • Application Method: Candidates must submit their applications in the prescribed format.2
    • Application Fee:
      • The application fee is Rs. 790 + 18% GST (Rs. 143), for a total of Rs. 933.
      • The fee is non-refundable.
      • The fee must be paid in cash at the Municipal Corporation’s Citizen Facilitation Centre (CFC) after obtaining a challan from the office.
      • The receipt of the fee payment must be submitted with the application.
    • Required Documents: The application form must be submitted along with self-attested photocopies of the following documents:
      • SSC (10th) mark sheet and board certificate
      • HSC (12th) mark sheet and board certificate
      • ‘Leprosy Technician’ training certificate
      • Experience certificate (if any, with a minimum of 6 months)
      • Application fee payment receipt
      • Aadhaar and PAN card photocopies
    • Application Submission Location: The application must be submitted at the administrative office of the Medical Superintendent, Acworth Municipal Leprosy Hospital, Major Parmeshwaran Marg, Wadala (West), Mumbai 400031.

    Selection Process

    The selection process will be based on the following criteria:

    • A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Higher Secondary (10+2) School Examination.
    • Two additional marks will be added for every six months of work experience as a ‘Leprosy Technician’ in a government or semi-government institution, up to a maximum of 20 marks.
    • A selection list will be prepared from the candidates in the merit list.
    • The final selection list will be displayed on the hospital’s notice board.
    • The original documents will be verified at a later date, which will be communicated to the candidates via email at least 5 days in advance.
    • Providing false information or documents will lead to cancellation of candidature at any stage.

    Job Responsibilities

    The duties of a ‘Lower Medical Worker’ include:

    • Organizing leprosy surveys, health education, and treatment programs.
    • Finding patients, examining their relatives, and following up on patients in the project area.
    • Performing duties in parallel clinics, such as primary patient examination, bacteriological examination, and patient card creation.
    • Keeping records of treatments and distributing anti-leprosy drugs and supportive medicines.
    • Guiding patients on foot and hand care and counselling them to take regular treatment.
    • Referring outpatients to nearby clinics or health centres and preparing daily and monthly reports.
    • Assisting with bacteriological examinations, patient cards, and other related daily tasks for disease diagnosis.
    • Preparing daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual work reports.
    • Actively participating in monthly review meetings, educational meetings, and training programs.
    • Performing other duties as assigned by senior officials.
