Commission Announces New Dates Following Low Turnout in Initial Round
Ranchi – The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has issued a crucial notice for candidates who applied for the post of Assistant Professor in English under Advertisement No. 04/2018. Due to an insufficient number of candidates appearing for the document verification held in June 2024, the commission has announced a new round of verification to be conducted from September 10 to September 12, 2025.1
Reason for the Re-scheduling
The initial document verification for the English subject, which took place from June 10, 2024, to June 12, 2024, did not see the required number of candidates attending. This shortfall has prompted the JPSC to provide a second opportunity for eligible candidates to get their documents verified. The commission’s aim is to ensure a sufficient pool of qualified applicants for the subsequent stages of the recruitment process.
Who is Eligible to Appear?
The re-scheduled document verification is not an open call for all applicants. The notice specifies the categories of candidates who are invited to attend. These include:
- Previously Absent Candidates: All candidates who were absent during the earlier document verification held in June 2024 are called to appear, with the exception of one specific eligible candidate from the ST category.
- Remaining Reserved Candidates: The remaining eligible candidates from various reserved categories.
- Unreserved Candidates: Certain candidates from the unreserved category, based on merit, are also being called for verification.
It is important to note that candidates who already participated and completed their document verification in the previous round and those invited for this round must present themselves as per the specified dates.
Next Steps in the Selection Process
Following the successful completion of this document verification, the commission will proceed with the next phase of the recruitment. As per clause 6(IV) of the advertisement, a list of candidates, three times the number of vacancies for each category, will be prepared for the interview. The commission has stated that the dates and details for these interviews will be announced later. This step marks a significant move forward in the JPSC’s ongoing efforts to fill regular faculty positions in various postgraduate departments and constituent colleges across universities in Jharkhand.
