Duration of Appointment
- The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project duration.
- Initial appointment may be for three months, extendable based on performance and discretion of the Competent Authority.
- Appointed candidates are required to work a minimum of one year from the date of joining; otherwise, the entire fellowship amount received must be returned to the institution.
- A 3-month notice period is required if appointed to another organization.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualification
- Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Chemical Sciences, or an equivalent subject with a strong academic record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates who have qualified NET-LS/GATE will be given preference.
- 2 years of research experience in Molecular Biology techniques, Tissue culture, and animal handling.
- Preference will be given to meritorious students and those with research experience in mammalian cell culture, animal handling, medicinal chemistry, and drug discovery.

Selection Process
Shortlisting
- Eligible candidates may be shortlisted based on their qualifications and experience, depending on the total number of applications received.
- JNU reserves the right to relax qualifications if a candidate is otherwise well-qualified by the Selection Committee.

- Shortlisted candidates will be informed about the date and venue of the interview via email/post.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
