Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Marketing Division) has issued an advertisement (No. IOCL/MKTG/NR/APPR/2025-26/1) for the engagement of a total of 523 Trade, Technician, and Graduate Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This initiative is part of the company’s Skill Building Initiative for the Nation and is open to candidates in the Northern Region, which includes the states and union territories of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. Applications are being accepted from eligible candidates who meet the specified qualifications and other criteria.

Eligibility Criteria and Important Requirements
Educational Qualifications
Candidates must have acquired the prescribed qualification from a recognized University/Institute through a full-time regular course. Qualifications obtained via Part-time/Correspondence/Distance Learning are not eligible. The required qualifications are as follows:
- Trade Apprentice (Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist): Matric with a 2-year regular full-time ITI course recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
- Technician Apprentice (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics): 3-year regular full-time Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline from an AICTE/UGC-recognized Institute/University.
- Graduate Apprentice (BBA/BA/B. Com/B.Sc.): A regular full-time Graduate in any discipline from an AICTE/UGC-recognized Institute/University.
- Trade Apprentice-Data Entry Operator (Fresher): Class 12th (but below graduate).
- Trade Apprentice-Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders): Class 12th (but below graduate) and a Skill Certificate for “Domestic Data Entry Operator” issued by a recognized awarding body.
Age and Other Conditions
The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum is 24 years as of September 30, 2025. Age relaxations are applicable for SC/ST (up to 29 years), OBC-NCL (up to 27 years), and PwBD candidates (up to 10 years, or up to 15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC-NCL).
Candidates who have previously undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training, or have one or more years of job experience after attaining their qualification, are not eligible. Those with higher professional qualifications like B.E., MBA, or MCA are also not eligible. The apprenticeship training period for all disciplines is 12 months.
Selection and Application Process
Application Procedure
Candidates must apply online through the NAPS/NATS portal from September 12, 2025 (10:00 A.M.) to October 11, 2025 (11:55 P.M.).
- Register on the portal:
- Trade Apprentice-ITI/Data Entry Operator: NAPS portal.
- Technician/Graduate Apprentice: NATS portal.
- Ensure 100% profile completion with correct personal and educational details.
- Apply for the opportunity using the provided Establishment IDs:
- NATS: NDLSDC000005
- NAPS: E05200700003.
- Complete the Microsoft Office Form by October 11, 2025, 11:55 PM. This form requires details along with preferred state and three preferred locations.
Selection Methodology
The selection will be based on a merit list prepared from the percentage of marks secured in the prescribed qualification. There will be no written test or interview. In case of a tie in marks, the older candidate will be given preference. If the dates of birth are also the same, the candidate with a higher percentage in matriculation will be considered.
Candidates must also be medically fit according to Indian Oil’s pre-engagement medical standards. The guidelines for physical fitness are available on the IOCL apprenticeships website.
Stipend and Other Information
The monthly stipend will be as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973. For Graduate and Technician Apprentices, part of the stipend will be paid by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) and the remaining by Indian Oil. Trade Apprentices will receive their full stipend directly from Indian Oil. To receive the government’s share of the stipend, candidates for Graduate and Technician apprenticeships must have an Aadhaar-seeded bank account that is enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).2
