ECR Invites Applications for Sports Quota Recruitment 2025-26
Centralized Employment Notice for East Central Railway
Hajipur, India – September 20, 2025. The East Central Railway (ECR) has announced a recruitment drive for outstanding and eligible sportspersons for the year 2025-26 under the Sports Quota. A total of 31 vacancies are available in ECR Headquarters in Hajipur and 25 vacancies are spread across its five divisions: Dhanbad, Danapur, DDU, Sonpur, and Samastipur.
The Centralized Employment Notice No.: ECR/HRD/Rectt./Sports Quota (Open Advt.)/2025-26 was published on September 20, 2025. The closing date for applications is October 21, 2025. Applicants from Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, J&K, Andman & Nikobar & Lakshdweep islands, Lahaul & Spiti District and Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, and candidates residing abroad have a closing date of November 6, 2025.1
Vacancies and Eligibility
The vacancies are distributed across various pay levels and sports disciplines.
- Pay Level 4/5: 21 vacancies
- Pay Level 1 (HQ/ECR): 10 vacancies
- Pay Level 1 (Divisions): 25 vacancies
The Railway Administration reserves the right to modify the number of vacancies and to downgrade posts from Pay Level 4/5 to Pay Level 2/3 if suitable candidates are not found.

Important Dates and Qualifications
- Period of Reckoning Sports Achievements: Achievements from the current financial year (2025-26) and the previous two financial years (2023-24 and 2024-25), on or after April 1, 2023, will be considered.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age as on January 1, 2026. No relaxation in age limit will be given.
- Educational Qualifications:
- Pay Level 4/5: Minimum Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University.
- Pay Level 2/3: Passed 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent.
- Pay Level 1: 10th pass from any recognized board, or ITI, or equivalent.
Application Process
Applicants must submit their applications in the prescribed format, which is attached with the notice. The application should be either neatly typed or handwritten on an A-4 size paper.
- A passport size photograph must be pasted on the application form and signed by the candidate.
- Two similar passport size photographs (duly signed) should be clipped with the application.
- Self-attested copies of all certificates for age, caste, educational qualifications, and sports achievements must be enclosed.
- All applications must include an Indian Postal Order (IPO) of the prescribed amount, payable to ‘FA&CAO, East Central Railway’ at Hajipur.

The official notice also includes Annexures A and B, which are a Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS)/National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) Model-Mandate Form for fee refund and an Income Certificate for Economically Backward Classes.2
