Prime Minister Modi Visits North-East, Declares it a ‘Growth Engine’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today visited the North Eastern states of Mizoram, Manipur, and Assam to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for numerous development projects. He said the North East is emerging as the “growth engine of the country.” In Mizoram, he inaugurated the Bairabi-Sairang New Rail line, connecting the state’s capital to the Indian Railways network for the first time. Speaking at a public gathering, he highlighted that India is the world’s fastest-growing major economy and emphasized the region’s contribution to this growth.

PM Modi Launches ₹7,300 Cr Projects in Manipur, Stresses Peace and Progress
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated multiple development projects worth over ₹1,200 crore at Imphal in Manipur. The projects include the New Civil Secretariat, New Police Headquarters, and Manipur Bhawans in Delhi and Kolkata, among others. The Prime Minister stated that the Union Government is continuously working to ensure peace and stability in the state and urged all organizations to embrace the path to peace. He also met with internally displaced persons (IDPs) in relief camps. He announced that 7,000 new houses have been approved for displaced families and that the central government has provided a special package of approximately ₹3,000 crore for the state.
While addressing a public gathering after laying foundation stones of multiple projects worth ₹7,300 crore to be taken up across the State, at Peace Ground in Churachandpur district of Manipur during his one day visit to the State, Shri Modi said that the land and region of Manipur is a soil of hope and aspiration.

Prime Minister Joins Centenary Celebration of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika
Prime Minister Modi participated in the celebrations to mark the 100th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika in Guwahati. He paid tribute to the legendary artist, calling him a “symbol of unity and national integration” whose music connected and guided people across India. The Prime Minister unveiled a ₹100 commemorative coin and released a biography of Hazarika in 21 languages.

Myanmar Airstrike Kills 19 School Students in Rakhine State
At least 19 high school students were killed and over 20 others injured in a Myanmar military airstrike at two private boarding schools in Kyauktaw township, in the western Rakhine state. The attack, which reportedly occurred late at night while students were sleeping, was confirmed by the Arakan Army and relief agencies. The two schools targeted were Pyinnyar Pan Khinn High School and A Myin Thit High School, with the victims aged between 15 and 21.

Lakshya Sen Enters Hong Kong Super 500 Badminton Final
Indian badminton player Lakshya Sen has advanced to the final of the men’s singles in the Hong Kong Open Super 500 tournament. Sen secured his place in the final after defeating Taiwan’s Chou Tien Chen in a hard-fought semifinal match. He will now face China’s Li Shifeng in the final.

Indian Women Boxers Secure Four Medals at World Championships
Indian women boxers have assured the country of at least four medals at the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool, England. Minakshi Hooda became the third Indian woman to enter the final after her victory in the 48kg semifinals. She joined Jaismine Lamboria (57kg) and Nupur Sheoran (80+kg), who have also reached their respective finals. Pooja Rani (80kg) will also be competing in her semifinal bout, aiming to secure another medal for India.
