The partnership is a strategic move to address the long-standing challenge of limited communication infrastructure in the state’s remote Dibang Valley and Anjaw districts. This initiative seeks to provide reliable cellular network coverage for both deployed troops and local communities, which is vital for enhancing operational capabilities and improving the lives of residents. Suspension of Postal Services to USA
India’s Department of Posts announced a temporary suspension of various postal services to the United States starting from August 25, 2025. This decision was a direct result of a U.S. Executive Order that eliminated the duty-free exemption for goods valued under a certain amount. The new U.S. regulations required the collection of pre-paid duty and customs data, a process for which carriers were not yet fully prepared. Consequently, the Department of Posts had to halt the booking and transmission of most mail items, except for letters, documents, and gifts valued under $100. The suspension was a precautionary measure to prevent logistical complications for Indian exporters and ensure compliance with the new U.S. trade rules.
