    Eligibility Criteria

    • Education:
      • B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery) degree from a recognized university, included in the schedule of the Central Council of Indian Medicine/National Commission for Indian System of Medicine.
      • Postgraduate degree in the relevant subject, included in the schedule of the Central Council of Indian Medicine/National Commission for Indian System of Medicine.
      • Mandatory internship training.
      • Registration with the Bihar State Ayurvedic & Unani Medical Council, Bihar, Patna, or mandatory registration before joining.
      • Possession of a Teacher Code as per the guidelines of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
      • Foreign university degrees are not valid for these advertised posts.
    • Age Limit (as of August 1, 2025):
      • Minimum: 27 years.
      • Maximum:
        • Unreserved Category: 45 years.
        • Backward Class/Extremely Backward Class: 48 years.
        • Female (Unreserved, BC, EBC): 48 years.
        • SC/ST: 50 years.
      • For doctors working in Bihar State Ayush Medical Service: Maximum 50 years.
      • Age relaxation of 5 years for Bihar Government permanent employees in higher pay scale services (maximum 5 attempts).
      • Age relaxation of 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD).
      • Age relaxation for Ex-servicemen: 3 years plus the period of service spent in defense, provided their actual age does not exceed 57 years on the date of application.

    Selection Process (Total 50 Marks):

    • B.A.M.S. Scores: Marks awarded based on percentage:
      • 75% and above: 20 marks.
      • 70% and above: 19 marks.
      • 65% and above: 18 marks.
      • 60% and above: 17 marks.
      • 55% and above: 16 marks.
      • 50% and above: 15 marks.
    • Postgraduate Degree in Ayurveda: 10 marks.
    • Work Experience (Contractual appointment in government academic sector): 2 marks per year, maximum 10 marks.
    • Interview: 6 marks (with a minimum passing mark of 2).
    • Original Publication in Recognized Journals (as main author): 4 marks (2 marks per publication, maximum 4 marks). Recognized journals include UGC-CARE, PubMed, Web of Science, Science Citation Index, Scopus.
    • Minimum qualifying marks for appointment as Assistant Professor: 25 marks.
    • In case of tie-scores, candidates will be shortlisted based on date of birth.

    Application Fee:

    • General Candidates: Rs. 100/-.
    • SC/ST of Bihar State: Rs. 25/-.
    • Permanent Resident Female Candidates of Bihar State (all categories): Rs. 25/-.
    • Divyang (PwBD) candidates (40% or more disability): Rs. 25/-.
    • Other candidates: Rs. 100/-.
    • An additional Biometric fee of Rs. 200/- will be charged if Aadhaar number is not provided as identification.

    Important Instructions:

    Candidates must register for One Time Registration (OTR) on https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in.

    Changes to candidate’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, gender, Aadhaar number, and date of birth are not permitted after OTR.

    Required documents can be uploaded via Digilocker.

    No hard copy of the application form or documents needs to be sent to the Commission office.

    Candidates must keep a hard copy of their online application and all related certificates for future verification.

    All claims for reservation must be made in the online application form and supported by valid certificates issued by competent authorities by the last date of application (August 8, 2025).

    Married women claiming reservation must submit caste/permanent residence/creamy layer certificates issued from their father’s name and permanent address.

    EWS certificates are valid for one year from the date of issue.

    Candidates must upload a clear live photo via webcam and scanned Hindi and English signatures.

    Four passport-size photographs should be kept safely for future use.
