The total number of vacancies is 1481. Vacancies are provisional and may increase or decrease.
The total number of posts reserved for female candidates under 35% horizontal reservation is 510.
Reservation and Age Limit
Reservation Information
- The benefit of reservation will be admissible only to candidates who are permanent residents of Bihar State. Residents outside Bihar will not be eligible for reservation benefits.
- The Caste / Creamy Layer Exempt Certificate for married women claiming reservation must be issued from their father’s name and address, not their husband’s.
- 10% reservation is applicable for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) as per rules.
- 4% horizontal reservation is applicable for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwD) as per rules, subject to the availability of vacancies.
- 02% horizontal reservation is applicable for the grandchildren of State Freedom Fighters, subject to the availability of vacancies.
Age Limit Calculation
The age limit for candidates will be calculated as of 01.08.2025.

The examination fee must be paid online (via Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI/Net Banking, etc.).
Nature and Syllabus of the Examination
Preliminary Examination
- The Preliminary Examination will be Objective in nature.
- The Preliminary Examination will be conducted if more than 40 thousand applications are received.
- The total number of questions will be 150.
- 4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer, and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- The duration of the exam will be 2 hours and 15 minutes.
- The Preliminary Examination will be a Book-Based exam (carrying books is allowed). Candidates may take three books with them, one for each section: (i) General Studies section, (ii) Mathematics section, and (iii) General Science section.
- The number of candidates selected for the Main Examination will be 05 (five) times the category-wise available vacancies.

The Preliminary Examination will have one General Knowledge paper, with the following subjects:

- General Science and Mathematics
- Mental Ability Test (Comprehension/Logic/Reasoning/Mental Ability)

Essential Instructions for Application
- Only one online application form can be filled out by a candidate.
- Candidates must scan and upload their Hindi and English signatures while submitting the online application.
- It is mandatory to enter a valid and active mobile number and email ID.
- Candidates must present all required original certificates at the time of document verification. The candidature may be affected/cancelled if original certificates are not presented.

आरक्षण एवं आयु सीमा
आरक्षण संबंधी जानकारी
- आरक्षण का लाभ उन्हीं उम्मीदवारों को मिलेगा, जिनका स्थायी निवास बिहार राज्य में है। बिहार राज्य के बाहर के निवासियों को आरक्षण का लाभ देय नहीं होगा।
- आरक्षण का दावा करने वाली विवाहित महिलाओं का जाति / क्रीमीलेयर रहित प्रमाण-पत्र उनके पिता के नाम एवं पता से निर्गत होना चाहिए न कि उनके पति के नाम से।
- आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर वर्ग (EWS) के लिए नियमानुसार 10% आरक्षण देय होगा।
- दिव्यांगों (Persons with Benchmark Disability) को रिक्ति की उपलब्धता की स्थिति में नियमानुसार 4% क्षैतिज आरक्षण देय होगा।
- राज्य के स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों के पोता/पोती / नाती/नतीनी को रिक्ति की उपलब्धता की स्थिति में नियमानुसार 02% क्षैतिज आरक्षण देय होगा।

परीक्षा की प्रकृति एवं पाठ्यक्रम
प्रारंभिक परीक्षा
- प्रारंभिक परीक्षा वस्तुनिष्ठ (Objective) प्रकृति की होगी।
- 40 हजार से अधिक आवेदन प्राप्त होने पर प्रारंभिक परीक्षा आयोजित की जाएगी।
- कुल प्रश्नों की संख्या 150 होगी।
- प्रत्येक सही उत्तर के लिए 4 अंक दिए जाएंगे तथा प्रत्येक गलत उत्तर के लिए 1 अंक की कटौती की जाएगी।
- परीक्षा की अवधि 2 घंटा 15 मिनट होगी।
- प्रारंभिक परीक्षा में पुस्तक सहित (किताबें ले जाने की अनुमति) ली जाएगी। अभ्यर्थी अपने साथ तीन पुस्तक अर्थात् प्रत्येक खंड के लिए एक ही पुस्तक ले जा सकते हैं: (i) सामान्य अध्ययन खण्ड, (ii) गणित खण्ड तथा (iii) सामान्य विज्ञान खण्ड।
- प्रारंभिक परीक्षा के माध्यम से कोटिवार उपलब्ध रिक्तियों के 05 (पाँच) गुणा संख्या के बराबर अभ्यर्थियों का चयन मुख्य परीक्षा के लिए किया जाएगा।
विषय
प्रारंभिक परीक्षा में एक पत्र सामान्य ज्ञान का होगा, जिसके निम्नांकित विषय होंगे:
- सामान्य अध्ययन
- सामान्य विज्ञान एवं गणित
- मानसिक क्षमता जाँच (Comprehension/Logic/Reasoning/Mental Ability)

- अभ्यर्थी ऑनलाइन आवेदन समर्पित करने के क्रम में हिन्दी एवं अंग्रेजी हस्ताक्षर को स्कैन कर अपलोड करेंगे।
- वैध एवं सक्रिय मोबाईल नम्बर तथा ई-मेल आई०डी० दर्ज करना अनिवार्य है।
