BHUBANESWAR – The Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC), a prominent public sector undertaking, has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to select a mine operator for its Unchabali (Mahaparbat) Iron Ore Mine located in the Keonjhar district of Odisha. The RFP, identified as No. 192/OMC/P&T/2025, was published on September 10, 2025, and is open to experienced mine operators. The successful bidder will manage the transportation of Run-of-Mine (ROM) to crushing and screening plants, and the subsequent crushing and screening to produce finished products like Crushed & Lumps Ore (CLO) and fines.

Other key responsibilities include the transportation of finished products and subgrades to designated yards, cleaning of quarry faces, disposal of waste materials, and managing mineral rejects. The operator will also be responsible for loading finished products and subgrades onto buyers’ trucks. The mine has a peak rated target of 9,61,060 MT. The contract period is set for five years, with an option to extend for an additional two years, providing a long-term engagement opportunity for the selected partner.
