The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) is conducting the Computer Assistant Examination-2025 for 13 vacancies. The selection process involves a written objective type examination followed by a qualifying Hindi typing test on a computer. UPPSC Computer Assistant Examination-2025: Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification:
- Essential: Passed Intermediate examination with Diploma in Computer Science from a recognized Institute/University, OR Intermediate with “O” level diploma from DOEACC or NIELIT Society.
- Preferential:
- Served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years, OR
- Obtained a “B” certificate of N.C.C.
- Candidates must possess all requisite qualifications by the last date of application submission.
- Age Limit (as on July 1, 2025):
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 40 years (i.e., born not earlier than July 2, 1985, and not later than July 1, 2007)
- Age Relaxation:
- 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Skilled players of U.P. (Classified Games) and State Govt. Employees of U.P. (i.e., born not earlier than July 2, 1980)
- 15 years for Persons with Disabilities (PH) of U.P. (i.e., born not before July 2, 1970)
- 3 years + Period of service rendered in Army for Emergency Commissioned Officers / Short Service Commissioned Officers/Ex-Army Personnel of U.P.
- Marital Status: Male candidates with more than one living wife and female candidates married to a person already having a wife are not eligible, unless an exemption is granted by the Hon’ble Governor.
UPPSC Computer Assistant Examination-2025: How to Apply
- One Time Registration (OTR): Mandatory to obtain an O.T.R. at least 72 hours before applying online. 3
- Online Application: Apply only through the commission’s website Applications sent through any other medium will not be accepted.
- Stages of Application:
- First Stage: Authenticate with OTR by entering OTR Number and proceeding with OTP verification. Personal details from OTR will be displayed automatically; only essential qualifications need to be filled. If OTR not done, obtain it first.
- Second Stage: Applicant Dashboard will display. Click on ‘Submit Details’ under ‘Application Part-2’. Permanent and correspondence address, along with preferential qualifications, will be displayed from OTR. Select Yes/No for preferential qualifications.
- Third Stage: ‘Fee Confirmation Window’ will appear. Click ‘Yes’ to proceed to ‘SBI MOPS’ for payment via NET BANKING, CARD PAYMENTS, or OTHER PAYMENT MODES. Print the ‘Payment Transaction Slip’. If payment fails, go to ‘Candidate Dashboard Login’ and click ‘Pending Payment’ to retry.
- Fourth Stage: After fee payment, the application form will be displayed. Take a printout and keep it safe for future reference.
- Correction/Modification: Candidates can modify qualification details in the applied post only once until the last date for correction/modification by logging into ‘Candidate Dashboard Login’. Any changes in personal details from O.T.R. must be synchronized on the Dashboard.
- Documents: Do NOT send hard copies of documents or online applications to the Commission unless specifically asked for. When asked, self-attested copies of all mark sheets and certificates must be enclosed.
- Certificates for Reservation/Age Relaxation: Candidates claiming reservation/age relaxation must obtain certificates from the competent authority in the prescribed format (Appendix-1) and submit them when asked.
UPPSC Computer Assistant Examination-2025 : Selection Process
- Written Examination (First Phase):
- Objective Type and Multiple Choice.
- Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.
- Total Questions: 100
- Total Marks: 100 (Each question carries equal marks)
- Negative Marking: One-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer. More than one answer for a question will also be treated as wrong. No penalty for unanswered questions.
- Minimum Efficiency Standard:
- SC & ST candidates: 35%
- Other categories: 40%
- Syllabus:
- Part A – General Hindi (25 Questions, 25 Marks): Knowledge of Hindi words and idioms used in general conversation, technical Hindi words used in work, and comprehension based on unseen passages, Hindi language writing ability.
- Part B – General Mental Ability (25 Questions, 25 Marks): Mathematical ability, graphical and pattern analysis ability, reasoning ability, data comparison, and decision making.
- Part C – General Knowledge (25 Questions, 25 Marks): General Science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Agriculture, Pharmacy, Botany, Zoology), Preliminary Economics (Growth rates, GDP, GNP), Social Science (Constitution, Law related issues, Indian History, Geography), Information Technology and Communication infrastructure, Space Science (Satellite launch).
- Part D – Computer Knowledge (25 Questions, 25 Marks): Operating System (Windows, Linux, Unix), Computer Languages (C, C++), Document Handling (Files Formats, Merging, Editing, Power Point, PDF), Data base Handling (MS-Access, Spreadsheets, Simple Database preparation), Internet and E-mails (w.w.w., Popular Websites, Web surfing, Email Preparation, SPAM emails), Malwares and Virus (Common available Virus and Malwares and their removal).
- Hindi Typing Test (Second Phase):
- Qualifying in nature.
- Duration: 5 minutes.
- Minimum essential speed: 25 words per minute (w.p.m.).
- Candidates must achieve the minimum speed to be considered for selection.
- Merit List: Final merit will be based on marks obtained only in the written examination.
- Document Verification: Candidates must present required original documents when asked. Failure to do so within the prescribed period will lead to cancellation of candidature.
- Medical Examination: Selected candidates will undergo a medical examination as per rules.

UPPSC Computer Assistant Examination-2025: Important Instructions for Candidates
NOC: Candidates serving under Central or State Government must produce a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their employer.
Preservation of Information: Candidates must preserve soft/hard copies of information regarding all stages (OTR, Fee payment, Final submission, Qualification related modification/Error correction) for future reference.
Updates: Candidates should regularly visit the commission’s website for updates. All future information/instructions will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID linked in OTR via SMS or email.4
Candidature Cancellation: Candidature will be cancelled for:
Submitting incomplete applications.
Not submitting on prescribed form.
Date of birth not mentioned or wrong date of birth.
Overage or underage candidates.
Not possessing minimum educational qualifications.
Applications received after the last date.
No signature under declaration in the format.
Concealment or misrepresentation of information.
Furnishing wrong information not substantiated by documents.
Indulging in malpractice (copying, indiscipline, misbehavior, canvassing).
Submission of forged documents (will lead to debarment from all UPPSC selections forever and legal action).
Admit Cards: Date, time, venue, and Roll No. will be communicated through e-Admit Cards. No change in center/venue is permissible.
OMR Answer Sheets: Use only Black Ball Point Pen. Do not use whitener, blade, pin, or rubber.Incorrectly filled or unblackened circles will not be evaluated.
