To date, 200 universities, including 46 central, 36 state, 20 deemed, and 105 private universities, along with six government institutions, have opted to use the CUET-UG scores for their undergraduate admissions.

In a significant shift from the traditional approach, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has proposed a hybrid examination format for the CUET-UG 2024. This includes both computer-based testing and pen-and-paper methods for different subjects. It has been indicated by officials that subjects with high registration numbers will use the pen-and-paper method with optical mark recognition (OMR), while the rest will continue with computer-based testing.
